Recovery

Recovering from surgery is serious, but there are things you can do to help ensure that your recovery goes as smoothly and quickly as possible. Here are some tips to help the process.

Minimize post-surgery life stress by preparing beforehand; pay bills, shop for needs and supplies, and make sure that you have someone to help take care of you during the recovery.

Non-smokers recover from procedures much more quickly and safely than smokers. If you are a smoker, you should quit at least a few months prior to your procedure. Also be at a healthy weight and have a healthy blood pressure.

Avoid anything that can encourage bleeding, including aspirin, ibuprofen, and some vitamins/supplements. Make sure to stay hydrated and consume lots of liquid.

If your procedure is being performed on your face, avoid applying makeup for two weeks or so. Avoiding salty food and beverages can minimize swelling.

Make sure to schedule and attend your follow-up appointments!
