Self-conscious about your nose’s size or shape? Have breathing problems, sinus trouble, or a deviated septum? Rhinoplasty from Dr. Ralston can adjust the size, shape, and even functionality of your nose.

Women or men concerned with the size or shape of their nose, or are experiencing certain nasal or sinus problems.

Often taking only an hour or two to complete, a rhinoplasty procedure is performed by making incisions either within your nose, or from the outside of it. After the incisions are made, the surgeon separates your nose’s exterior skin from the underlying bone and cartilage, which will then be shaped and positioned per your desired results. After the reshaping, the skin will be repositioned and stitched back into place.

After the procedure, a splint will be placed on your nose to help maintain your nose’s new shape. Inside your nostrils, soft splints may be used for additional support, as well as to help provide breathing assistance. Your nose and eyes may feel puffy or swollen, but this will begin to subside after a few days. Some blood discharge may also occur. Make sure to avoid strenuous activity for a few weeks following your procedure, as increased blood pressure can be a risk. Also be careful if you wear glasses; until your nose has completely healed, you must not rest them on the bridge of your nose.

A rhinoplasty can help adjust the size of your nose for better proportion to the rest of your face, modify the shape or slope of its tip, correct breathing or sinus problems such as those caused by a deviated septum.
