Male breast growth can cause emotional distress and sometimes even physical pain. Performed by Dr. Ralston, a male breast reduction procedure can help minimize breast size in men, firming up muscles and decreasing size, resulting in a tighter appearance.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR MALE BREAST REDUCTION?
Men with swollen or enlarged breasts. Gynecomastia can occur anywhere from early childhood to adolescence or beyond for several reasons, and while it is generally not a serious medical condition, it can cause emotional distress and/or physical pain.
After administering general or local anesthesia, the surgeon makes an incision either on the edge of the areola or near the underarm. The breast tissue, fat, and excess skin is cut away. In some cases where large fat deposits are present, liposuction is used to remove it. After the procedure, your doctor may insert a drain to remove excess fluids. After the incision is sutured, they are covered in dressings and wrapped to keep skin in place.
After male breast reduction, pain and swelling are common. Numbness or possible increase of sensitivity of the breast and nipples can also occur, and strenuous activity should be avoided for at least three weeks, including exercise, heavy lifting, or house/yard work. Soaking in hot tubs/pools should be avoided until incision sites are completely healed.

A gynecomastia procedure will help reduce the size of male breasts, increasing proportionality and firmness to the affected area, as well as helping to decrease any physical pain or tenderness or emotional stress caused.
